Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to common questions about web design services, pricing, timelines, hosting, and SEO.
How much does a website cost?
Projects start at $75 and go up from there. Final price depends on what you actually need - complexity, features, and scope all factor in.
How long does it take?
I usually send a working draft within a week after we align on pages and style, as long as I have the info I need. Most projects take 1–3 weeks from start to launch. Simple sites can be done in about a week; custom or multi-page sites may take 2–3 weeks.
Do you work throughout Rhode Island?
Yes! I serve all of Rhode Island including Providence, Warwick, Newport, Cranston, Pawtucket, North Kingstown, and everywhere else in the Ocean State.
What if I need changes later?
I'm here for ongoing support. Small tweaks (text, images, colors) are usually quick and easy. Bigger changes like new pages or features we discuss as separate projects.
Do you do e-commerce sites?
I don't build complex online stores or sites requiring frequent updates. I focus on simple, effective websites that work reliably.
What about mobile responsiveness?
Every website I build works perfectly on phones, tablets, and desktops. Mobile-first design is standard, not an extra.
Do you provide hosting?
Yes, I handle hosting through Cloudflare which provides excellent speed and reliability. No need to find your own hosting or manage technical details.
What types of businesses do you work with?
Small businesses, restaurants, service companies, cleaning services, landscaping, car detailing, food trucks, and local New England businesses. Perfect for side gigs too.
Do you work with big companies?
I focus on smaller projects and personal work. Big companies usually need teams and committees, which isn't how I work best.
What technologies do you use?
Modern, reliable tech that won't break. React, Node.js, Cloudflare, and other proven tools. I choose what's right for your specific project.
Can I update the site myself?
I prefer to handle updates directly to keep everything working smoothly. It's faster and more reliable than training clients on technical systems.
What about SEO and Google rankings?
I build sites with solid technical SEO basics: fast loading, proper structure, meta tags, mobile-friendly. That helps your site be findable. Ranking well usually takes ongoing work—blogs, fresh content, repeated optimization—and that isn't something I do as a one-off. If you need sustained ranking, that's a different kind of project.
How do I get started?
Fill out the project form on my website or email me directly. I usually send a working draft within a week after we align on pages and style, as long as I have the info I need.
Do you do blogs or content management?
I can build blogs, but a blog is an ongoing project with recurring cost. The software that powers the blog (the CMS) costs money to host every month—whether you write the posts yourself or I do. It's not a one-off build. If you want a blog, we'd discuss setup and ongoing hosting so you know what you're signing up for.
